About Joan

As a longtime resident of Columbus, Joan Flower has taken on many roles in our community. After graduating from The Ohio State University, Joan worked for the IBM Corporation as a systems engineer in the 1980’s.  Afterwards, as a stay-at-home mom, she was actively involved in the lives of her 3 daughters and numerous volunteer organizations.  Joan also launched, and subsequently sold, the business of Personal Touch Stationary and Gifts.  In 2011, she began her career in esthetics.  She is now very excited to open her own office near her home in Upper Arlington.

Joan's nurturing touch and her desire to help women feel good about themselves and their skin is what attracted Joan to the career of esthetics.  Joan is especially interested in helping women, who are undergoing cancer treatment therapies, with their skin recovery. Joan is one of only three estheticians in the State of Ohio who are certified in the area of Oncology Esthetics.  She is the only COE (Certified Oncology Esthetician) in Central and Southern Ohio.

“I firmly believe age is truly just a number. There are so many things that we can do in the area of diet, lifestyle and color that will have an incredible impact on our skin and confidence. Coupled with my philosophy of skin treatments & care at SimplySkin, that number can be something to be celebrated by all.”

Joan is supported in her career by her husband, Jim, and her daughters Kirsten, Shannon and Niki.
